Cookies and storage
Everything Moymo stores in your browser, why, and for how long.

Published in English and Czech. Both language versions have the same content and are equally valid.
1. How this works
Moymo stores small pieces of data in your browser: cookies, and entries in local storage and session storage. Some are necessary for the site to work and are always on. Everything else is used only if you allow it (Section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., which implements the ePrivacy Directive).
There are three groups: necessary, analytics, and external media. Until you answer, Moymo uses only necessary storage. There are no advertising cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stays off.
2. Your choices
You can change your choice at any time, here or with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
3. Necessary cookies
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| __Host-moymo_session | Keeps you signed in. Only the server can read it. | 14 days after your last activity, 90 days at most |
| moymo_session | The previous name of the sign-in cookie. If your browser still has it from an earlier visit, it is replaced by __Host-moymo_session; after 5 January 2027 it is no longer accepted | Until it is replaced, at most as long as the sign-in it carries |
| __Host-moymo_session_studio | Keeps a studio member signed in to the studio panel | 12 hours after the last activity |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Until you close the browser |
| moymo_oauth_state, moymo_oauth_origin | Ties a sign-in or account link with another service to the browser that started it | 10 minutes |
| moymo_locale | Remembers your language | 1 year |
| moymo_consent | Remembers your cookie choices, for moymo.net and its subdomains | 1 year |
| moymo_identity | Shows your name and avatar in the header before the page has finished loading; signed-in members only | 30 days |
| moymo_visitor | A random key for visitors who are not signed in, so that opening the same profile twice in a day counts as one visit. Shared by moymo.net and its subdomains | Until midnight UTC |
| moymo_ref | Carries the invite code you arrived with through a Google or Discord sign-up. Set only when you click one of those buttons after following an invite link, and deleted once the code is used | 1 hour |
| moymo_admin_mode, moymo_neural_engine | Switches for staff and testers; not set for anyone else, and deleted on sign-out | 30 days |
4. Local and session storage
| Key | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| moymo:beta-features | Beta features you switched on | Until you change them or clear site data |
| moymo:creator-application-draft | Your unfinished creator application, so nothing is lost on reload | Until you submit it or sign out |
| moymo:integration-complete | Passes the result of linking an account from the sign-in window back to the page | Deleted as soon as it is read |
| moymo_soundtrack_v2, moymo_soundtrack_volume | Your progress in the daily soundtrack game, and the player volume | Until you clear site data |
| moymo_logo_intro, moymo_onboarding_mode, moymo_profile_starter_v1, moymo_profile_auth_v1, moymo_profile_editor_v1, moymo:stall (session storage) | Whether the logo animation has already played, your choices during onboarding, a profile you started building before signing in, and for staff a technical note if the page froze | Until you close the tab or sign out |
These stay in your browser. Nothing in them is sent to us except as part of something you do, such as submitting the application.
5. Analytics - only with your consent
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics: tells visitors apart | 13 months |
| _ga_XXXXXXXXXX | Google Analytics: keeps the state of the visit | 13 months |
Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you allow it. Advertising features and Google Signals are off, and it receives the kind of page viewed rather than its full address, no search terms, and for signed-in members only a one-way code instead of the account id. It is provided by Google Ireland Ltd; see the Privacy notice. Withdrawing consent deletes these cookies.
6. External media - only with your consent
Some pages can show content from other services. Loading it connects your browser to that service, which receives your IP address and may store its own cookies under its own policy. It loads only if you allow external media in the cookie settings, or choose to load one item on its placeholder - which loads that item without remembering anything. One exception: the daily soundtrack game is built on Deezer's previews, so opening it loads the day's previews from Deezer without asking first.

7. Pictures from other servers
Not every picture on Moymo comes from our servers. Game artwork, pictures from linked accounts and some other pictures are loaded by your browser directly from the services they come from - such as Steam, IGDB, SteamGridDB, Discord, YouTube and Twitch - as soon as a page shows them, without asking first. Those services receive your IP address and information about your browser, and they can set or read their own cookies under their own policies; Moymo does not set those cookies and cannot read them. The full list and the legal basis are in the Privacy notice. We plan to serve these pictures from our own servers. Icons and typefaces are part of the site and are not loaded from anywhere else.
8. Member pages on their own domains
A member page on the member's own domain is, for your browser, a different site. Your choices there are stored separately from the ones you made on moymo.net.
9. Deleting stored data
You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Deleting moymo_consent makes the site ask again; deleting the session cookie signs you out.
